  • There is more demand at younger ages for Scouts, we do our best to accommodate all applications, but our numbers do depend on our number of volunteers.

  • Yes, our Den is available for booking. Please visit our dedicated Den Booking portal.

  • Safety is paramount for us. All our Scout Leaders are required to complete Garda vetting and safeguard training before they assume their roles.

    We also make sure that all activities for our youth members are age-appropriate and conducted under proper supervision.

  • Submit your details via our Join Us page.

  • We admit new children using the following preference:

    • Leader's children (everyone is welcome to become a leader)

    • Sibling's of existing Scouts.

    • Children from the waiting list.

    Typically we will contact parents of children on the waiting list during the Summer for in-take in September.

  • Make contact with a Leader in the den to discuss what the role entails.

    Complete Garda Vetting – complete the form, provide two character references and have the form signed off by our Group Leader. It generally takes 3 – 4 weeks for the entire process.

    Attend Being a Scouter Training – this is a 2 – day training course conducted at various centres around Ireland few times a month. It typically starts at 9am on a Saturday and concludes around 4pm on a Sunday. It covers Child Safety, and the principles and ethos of scouting as well as practical exercises in how to plan and run a scouting activity.

    The cost of the training is €100, but the scout group will reimburse you once you have completed it. You need to be Garda vetted to attend this training.
